Day 6: StayHomeWriMo

March 30, 2020

Good day fellow social distancers! I hope everyone is going about their days safely but also creatively. In most recent news, I have adopted a Guinea Pig named “Lady Sherlock”. She has adapted quite nicely to her new living arrangements thus far, though we are still trying to get to know each other. She has loved exploring my apartment and has claimed ownership of my favourite blanket.

Getting on with today’s activities:

Mental Well-Being: Spend half an hour discovering and learning a new language. Try an online platform like DuoLingo!

Interesting. I had considered doing this. I do want to continue learning French, and I want to start Italian. I did my french for the day, I’m thinking doing this everyday now since I have the opportunity but I shall have to fully immerse myself in the language as that is the best way for me to learn with my APD. I may also watch a french film later this evening.

Creative Well-Being: Sign up for Camp NaNoWriMo. Set your goal to whatever feels doable to you this April.

I have actually already done that. I’m very excited to write my newest short story. It’s going to center around self care and metal health.

Social Well-Being: Check in on someone you know who’s staying home alone, and see if you can help in any way.

This one hits home for me as I live alone. So I contacted several friends who live alone or maybe with just one other person. Had many pleasant chats

Physical Well-Being: Spa day! Take a long, hot shower or bath. Do a face mask. Aaaah.

First order of business after this is over is a massage. My body is desperately craving one. But for now, I did a full facial:

  • Cleansed with my normal cleanser
  • Exfoliate using the Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel
  • Remove with a warm washcloth
  • Apply the mask, now I’m using the Aztec Clay mask and I use apple cider vinegar and rose water as the mixing medias
  • I apply rosehip oil then apply under eye pads
  • Moisturize with my daily moisturizer
